My Support Beam

I'm not a poet. And I don't pretend to be a poet. But once upon a time we had to do a poetry anthology my Junior year of High School... So much fun...

Anywho. I am going to share with you a poem I wrote that year for my dear Samantha. This post is in connection to the ladder post of my blog. Enjoy! Try not to judge my poetry skills or lack there of...

             My Support Beam By

                    Lauren Loock

I have a friend who always gives it her all,
This is a good thing, for she isn’t very tall.
Whether dawn or dusk she’s there for me,
In any instance, friends we’ll always be.
Never have I met another so merry and bright,
She can out shine anyone, it’s out of sight.
A hard-working dancer, good student too,
She does any task happily singing ‘skip to my Lou.’
If friends could be measured, she’s so first rate,
Like a support beam, she holds me up straight.
She’s a man among man, although she’s a woman,
and each day she says, ” I know I can!”
A friend like this is not easy find,
especially this friend, for she’s one of a kind.
The look on her face says she can conquer,
And I hope someday to be just like her!
