CREATIVITY
Stage Costume

As a musical theatre major, creativity is easy to pin point in my life. I'd imagine the majority of my creative skills lie within singing, acting and dancing. That's the obvious; It's what I love to do. However, there really is so much more to creativity than that obvious. There's more to creativity than "the arts." For the mathematician, it's the ability to work with numbers and make everything work into the correct answer. For the everyday mom, it's her talent of raising her children. For me, It's my ability to interact with people.
For as long as I can remember, I have been the "problem solver" of my peers. I've found that people love to be listened to, and could go on for hours as long as they have an ear to talk to, and a smile to look at- that's me; a friendly ear and a warm smile. Anyone can talk about themselves, but I believe it to be a real talent to be able to, not only listen, but to respond as well. That is another way I've channeled my creativity; coming up with a solution. I can't always guarantee that i'll come up with the best answer, or even a good answer, but people find a sense of peace to get another opinion. I am caring, and find that I legitimately care about people, and in return, I get joy from seeing happiness in another.

The trait mentioned above is just one of the many ways creativity can be shown through interaction. I also find myself, quite often, being creative through my humor. Everyone loves to laugh! It is good for the mind and soul, and I love being there to help out. I pride myself in being quick-witted and ready for any opening. I've actually worked for years to perfect this task, and love when it's used effectively. It takes a lot to be able to analyze a situation, and put words together in a comedic way. Humor is creative.

It's amazing how much more there is to creativity than the stereo-typical, artist, singer, actor.. whatever! To be creative is to use your skills and knowledge to make the best of a situation in YOUR own way. For me, It is interacting with others. With doing this, I find joy in my life, joy in others' lives, better interviews, better relationships, and an altogether contagious energy!  Creativity is an art, no matter the format.
